Not so long ago it was siad that it wouldn't be a great idea using a G6 for weddings photo's, well here is what the G6 is capable of and hasn't disappointed, as you can see the results??
But opinions would be great, i have another wedding to shoot today too, (23-7-05) and will upload some of those too.....

Excellent. In the hands of a skilled shooter, the G6 can deliver great wedding images. Is the absence of anything wider than 35mm a problem? (old film shooter question)

I'd say the G-6 performed well. Could have used a bit of fill flash for the Bride shot, but all in all, Nice work. :D

Great stuff. As you know, the built-in flash has its limitations but it seemed to work for you at close range. I'd like to know how one gets around using flash with the bright white dresses - using the FEL feature seems to be a pain for quick shooting. For the few times I tried using my G6 and 550EX inside, if there was a white-colored table cloth nearby or whatever, the exposure was WAY off; since ambient light levels are almost zero (as compared to what little avaible light there is), it must be a feat to guess how much exposure compensation before you take the shot.
Weddings are all about unfolding events, too often not enough time to mess with exposure settings and what not. This is why I will stick with shooting film for weddings in the forseeable future due to the lattitude of the format. (and ISO 400 is super-high quality with such emulsions as NPH)
I could use RAW to do this, I suppose, but the time it takes for post-processing and the fact those 20.3 MB TIFF files are memory sponges kind of turns me off.......Keep up the good work, Manny.

...thanks for all that, yes the exposure is cruciel for white dresses but i seem to be getting the hang of it by leaving the exposure compensation option open for quick settings, i photographed another wedding with my G6 thie weekend and did just that and it worked too, i was able to get to the on-board flash settings too but this time i used an off camera flash gun and used it on the wireless setting and i didn't have too much of a problem, i will be posting some of these other shots soon....??
