Hey,
So i have to take pictures in a club type of environment in a few weeks, and i need some help. I have no experience what so ever with these types of pictures, and i am not sure that i have the necessary equipment. I have a canon rebel xs, the stock 18-55 lens, and a 70-200mm f4/L telephoto lens. Is it possible to take pictures in this type of environment with this equipment? And, what type of settings would i be looking to put my camera in?
Thanks for the help.

Define "Club"....

If you mean "nightclub", have a look here: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=415099
If you mean "band on stage", check here: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=226809

For "nightclub", you'd need a flash, for "band on stage", the lenses are kinda slow, but you might get by if lighting is decent. Settings for "band on stage": ISO 1600+, lens wide open, aim for shutterspeeds of 1/60s or faster.

Too slow, I tried 3.5-5.6 in a club (my 50mm f/1.4 was being repaired) and I had to use flash. This is how it looked like, with ISO 800:
