I think its a cool photo ...however its not a big yellow dirt moving thing . Its a log skidder, made to move logs not dirt , nice shot all the same though

No, not at all. I really am impressed that someone would know that. I have a hard time telling the difference between a front loader and a bulldozer.

Thanks 007. I have a really "painterly" version of it. I wonder if I should post it.

That's easy..lol - a bulldozer has a blade that extends across the entire front end - a FEL has a much smaller bucket on an articulated arm.

Just call me the Tonka Kid..lol

Well, I don't want to highjack this topic but I'm an inspector for the local county flood control district. The project I'm working on is a channel in Palm Springs. We are removing material in the channel to bring it back to design grade, raising the levee a couple of feet at the access road using soil cement and constructing a flood wall.

Sure.
Both the "Painterly" and realitic ones started off the same. 7 shot RAW bracket from -3 to +3, converted to 16 bit Adobe98 tifs. Then imported to Photomatix. The second one I just clicked the grunge preset and backed off a couple sliders. That setting did give me some halos but they're easily taken care of. On this one I just used COLOR RANGE in Photoshop to select the haloed part. Then EDIT>FILL. When the FILL box opens select COLOR in the pull down menu in the CONTENTS box. When you do that you get the eye dropper and just select what ever color you want in the halo. Bye Bye halo. Easy Peasy.
