Tell me about it. I can't afford to keep the old one to get the new model. It's really sad. I feel for you.

No.. not the new one... its way to expensive!
What happened is that I went from a 40D to a 5DII... and 200mm doesn't cut it, and using the 2x converter on the 70-200 just turns the IQ and AF speed to mush!
So I bought a second hand (but in new condition) 100-400... for 900GBP. So far very very happy with the lens.
Since then ive not used the 70-200 once... so theres no point in keeping it.
Im glad you all feel my pain!

I bought a 7D this year and the 70-200 is amazing with it. But yes, the reach of the 5DII makes it not the favorite for sports shooting.
