Help with hi key lighting?

Hi guys,

i posted this somewhere else but i think my wording made it a little complicated. What i am looking to do is photos with a hi-key white back drop and i understand that the back drop itself is needed along with a soft box or reflector or 2...

I am new to photography but i would like to have the equipment or strive to get the equipment to take these photos would it be possible for someone to list the names of the products needed (lighting, soft boxe(s) etc) and perhaps an online site to purchase them?

I am on a budget becuase im only 20 and dont have a high paying job so if you could just name the products and maybe i can search for them used or cheap that would be great

High Key is a concept, or style that isnt gear specific. Other than the drop, you can do low key with the same gear. What you will need is enough lights to light up the subject (at least one, maybe two) and enough to get the drop illuminated evenly, usually 2. So on a budget you need 3 or 4 strobes, a couple of modifiers of your choice, umbrellas are cheap, and stands for the lights.

strobes? they are just flashes. Modifiers ( umbrellas, softboxes, beauty dish, etc) just change the nature of the light, generally just softening it and allowing you more control over it. Umbrellas just soften the light by making the source bigger. You can use them as reflective surfaces, or if you get the convertible type you can shoot through them making them large diffusion panels
