Just finished up editing my images from the airshow at Quonset Point, RI last month. This image is a little unusual in that it captures 3 generations of fighter aircraft.
Shot with a 1D MKII 400mm f2.8 lens at f10 1/1600 sec exposure. Any comments / criticisms would be appreciated.

Cool shot. My first impression is dang that F-15 is big! I have always loved those F-86's

I would crop in tight on the F-86/F-15 pair as that is the real stregnth of the photo. It is cool that 3 planes were involved but the shot is much more powerfull with the F-16 cropped out, since it does not appear, in the angle of the photo, to be tucked in close like the other 2.

Also I would try to bring out the background sky just a bit. Proably mask it and try to bring out a little cloud diffition or a hint of blue.....

just my 2 cents...

thanks for the comments Emb. I never thought about cropping out the other aircraft. . . The background is just a grey overcast. The clouds started to break up in the afternoon but not much I could do about it.

Nice shot....I have always liked that Heritage flight.....we don't usually get the F-16 here for the Heritage flight, its usually just the 15 and the 86
