I went to the PVDI show (Photography, Video & Digital Imaging) at the Toronto Convention Center last weekend.

Luckily for me & my allergies, other than the occasional blast from a perfume/cologne bather , most of the smells were contained around the "food court", so I was able to stay there most of Saturday afternoon.

It was pretty good IMHO. I tried to sit through a couple of seminars, but ended up missing the topic because I got involved in conversations with folks at the back each time; they didn't understand some of what the host was saying, and I ended up explaining terminology or something.
The one of the drawbacks of trying to be helpful.;)

Saw the display of the new pair of Sony DSLRs...(so new, they don't have model #'s yet)
OMG! They FINALLY have HD movie modes!!!!!! Offering multiple resolution settings (720 & 1080) & fps rates (24/25, 30 & 60, I think).
It's AVCHD though, so I don't know how that would be for editing.

I thought the raised platform "big lens gallery" was pretty cool.
Sure was a great display of the performance & versatility of the Jobu heads!

Yeah I picked up more gear.
LOL! As a matter of fact, as soon as the wife got to use one of those sweet swing heads, she said - "Oh Honey! This is incredible -it's sooooo easy to move around! You really need one of these for your 150-500."
LOL! Who was I to argue? ;)

I got a few other items besides a Jobu Jr3 head & a 4.5" plate;
a Joby Gorillapod Focus,
a Sekonic 758DR lightmeter,
& a large Intuos4 pad.

Yes I'm sure there are better prices to be found,
but I wasn't just there for the equipment. :p
I made a few potential future biz contacts, met some cool people & product reps!
Heck, even met & chat up a couple of the big bosses,
like Ian Gvozdek, President of Devonshire Manufacturing Group Inc.- makers of the Jobu heads. :)
