400mm L + 1.4 TC.
Great Blue Heron. He never did his head into the light... Even though I watch him for quite some time. Finally he snagged a fish and *immediately* flew off with it. The snag and fly was like a single motion. When his head went forward I snapped the shutter. By the time the shutter actually open he was flying off and a got a blurred shot of his butt. I called him "Quickbutt"

Yellow Crowned Night Heron, Juvenile (best guess with Sibley's help). He *always* had his butt in the light, and also never got his head into the light. This was very near to sunset, and I was really hoping to catch all of him in that golden light. I called him "Goldbutt"
