Any places I should go (besides the arch) that are worth photographing? Any places I should stay away from?

Will be using my 20D, w/ 50mm f/1.8 and my 28-75mm f/2.8.

From what I've heard you should stay away from most of St. Louis. :D

I was there in Feb. and didn't have a problem (except from the parking authority). Union Station was neat, the sculpture out front makes some great photos. Enjoied the St. Louis Art Museum (SLAM) & Citigarden as well as most of downtown. Wished I was going this time of year to see the fountians with water. Have fun!

My husband and I love St. Louis, check out the zoo, it's free, but around $11 for parking!! The downtown area is nice around the arch, and pretty safe too. The capital building over there has some nice photo opps as well. I love heading up that way in september when the concord grapes are ripe!!!

I second staying away from east St. Louis. I worked in that area 4 days last month and each time I came out of a building I was glad to see my car was still there, than, I was glad to make it to to the car safely.

Unfortunately I was not able to see the sights due to time constraints. I did want to get to the zoo, but maybe next time.
