Took these pictures from a pier leading into Tampa Bay. Sorry that the pictures aren't the best of quality, but these bird were flying extremely fast and skimming the water with their beaks wide open. It was an awesome site to behold.

A Black Skimmer.
...it's a close relative of the "Tern" family ...
Excellent shots!
You don't need to go as far as florida either to see them.. they are quite plentifull on the Jersey shore this time of year.

Luis.. I saw them in abundance in Cape May.. I'm pretty sure they leave for southern climtes towards the end of October or so..
I recall seeing just a few at a wildlife reserve that is just across the Water from Atlantic City... but I can't recall the name...
