I'm causal user using G6. Recently purchase the conversion lens adapter LA-DC58D with normal UV filter, purpose is to protect the original len. However find that using the built in flash, the photo came out partial "Shadow" on the right hand bottom. Is this a normal cause using the adapter? How should I solve the problem? Thanks.

Hello, And WELCOME to the forum. :D
I'm afraid the two best ways to eliminate this shadowing problem, is to
#A, Remove the adapter whenever you want to use the built in flash. or,
#B, The BEST solution (If budget allows) is to buy one of the EX series external flashes. The 550 or 580EX flashes will allow you to slave another 550, 580, or 420EX flash. The 420 is more cost effective.
If you do a search here you'll undoubtedly find a LOT of information on all three. ;)

Thanks Bruce. Does the market sell the 52mm adapter so the flashing will not block by the filter. Will it helps?

Yes, http://www.lensmateonline.com (http://www.lensmateonline.com/) not only has a 52mm adapter available, but they show samples of the difference in shadowing between the 52 & 58mm adapters. They sell both, btw. ;)

Look likes I had got the wrong size..Is 52mm commonly use or the 58mm one? I would think that the internal flash would be more handy for my usage.

In that case the 52mm adapter would probably work better for you.

Thanks. I have practiced on some shots around and found that try to avoid wide-angle taking will not have the shadow effect.

Both the 52 and 58 block the internal flash and give you the shadow.

Get a 420EX or similar, you'll be amazed at the better pictures you can take with a bounce flash.

Beside using a filter, is there any option for the original len protection? Thanks.

True, But the 52mm adapter will block it less, and that's why my statement recommended it over the 58mm. ;)
