Beautiful dog, and great shot. You have his eyes nicely in focus. Would you mind posting the EXIF info on this?
Improvements: The tip of the nose cut off is very distracting, but I love the closeness you have. Maybe shift the camera a tad more to the left to get the entire nose in the frame, or maybe even backing up a bit to get both the whole nose and whole ear in the frame.

Beautiful dog, and wonderful focus on the eyes!
The crop is awkward though, you need more of the background present next time. The nose tip is cut off, and it would look better with the entire ear in the shot.
But other than that, nice work!

Looks great. Leave some room for the dog to "look into" though and watch the nose crop.

It looks great! Ditto on the nose, but watch the ears also. I tend to crop/compose just behind the back of the ear if I can.

You captured the lighting in the eyes perfectly. :)

Love it. Very sharp. Like the others the crop on the edge of the nose is too close. Otherwise great shot.

Nice pic. I too would have liked to see the nose and ears but still beautiful eyes.

I was just about to leave a comment and I saw this reply. You took the words right out of my mouth. :)

Hope you don't mind me butting in, but here is my first pic of a dog. Got a 450D a few days ago. My first SLR.
Was my depth of field to small here? The eyes are in focus but the nose is out.
Comments please...

Just so you know, it was dark outside already hence the high ISO. Used a white curtain hanging on my right to bounce the flash.
