HELP!!!

I have a canon zr70 and it isnt working properly. When I want to record new video footage there isn't anything on the screen except the occasional flickering line. When I want to play back video from a tape it shows this very well. It is no longer under warranty !!!! There is not any problems with the screen as it shows everything it needs to apart from what I want to see to record ! I hope someone out there understands what I am talking about!

You posted this on a still photography site. I don't know how much help we can be. But, I would suggest that you give Canon a call on monday and see what they say. Also, if you purchased with a credit card, you might have an extended warranty through your credit card company. Not all offer it, so you might want to look into it. Maybe you will get lucky.

have you tried connecting the cam to a tv and recording ? if so does the tv show what's being recorded ? don't want to state the obvious but is the lens cap off
