This v lux 20 OR xsi (2 yrs old 5,000 + actuations) kit lens, nifty, 430 ex II, 70-200 f/4L, b&w kaesemann polarizer...

the deal:

i was thinking about getting rid of my d-slr stuff for decent p&s but not sure if i want to give it up. I really like the sound of the leica, but never really heard much about there stuff.... i just know they make great glass.

i probably wont sell my stuff and get one, but it will take me a few years before i can even upgrade or get more junk for my camera.

do you think there may even be a pinch of worth in selling all my gear and going for it or am i just dreaming about something i cant get.... again?

Almost all Leica compacts are rebranded Panasonics.

the only compact you should get from leica is the x1.

Personally think the X-1 is hugely overpriced with the Sony and Samsung EVIL cameras on the market. The only Leicas that might be worth the very high asking price are the M9 and the S2.

i thought the same, until i actually used the x1. i was blown away by both the build and the image quality. far superior to the d300/s, etc.
