Is it me, my monitor or just the white background of this forum? I adjust my photos in photoshop to have them look how I want, upload them on here (obviously reduced in size) and they look a little bright/over exposed - just a bit, say 1/3 stop.

Anyone else noticed or is it just me?

hhhmmmm, do you mean have I got it set to that or should I have it set to that?

If you are displaying photos on the web....they should be set to sRGB....since that is the standard. Is your monitor calibrated? Your images look to be more than 1/3 of a stop over-exposed....more like 1/2 to 2/3 stop.

No my monitor isn't calibrated - not even sure how to do that! You say my photos look around 1/3 stop over exposed - you are right. During a little PP I do boost the exposure by just that. Looks better on my monitor in photoshop. Just when I size them for the web and post, they come out over exposed as you say....

Just checked and I am set to sRGB

You can start by doing a soft monitor calibration.....this is a pretty simple and straight forward tool.....http://www.hex2bit.com/products/product_mcw.asp

That should help a lot....the next step is to do an actual calibration using a tool such as the Spyder. http://spyder.datacolor.com/
