First..congratulations on your A40 purchase. IMHO..the best camera for the money still out there. I bought an A40 in December '02. A few hints to help you out.
One..first..contact Canon's support people..explain the problem. Two..what version of Zoombrowser do you have..Canon has a new version out..4.0.2. I had v3.2 and just upgraded. Next..what computer operating system do you have? If you have Windows XP...look at your pictures in "My Pictures" or if you have say Zoombrower 3.2..save a picture or two in your "My Pictures" directory..and view it there..how does it look?
You may have an issue with Zoombrower as many have reported. Lastly..will pass along an excellent tip that Colin helped me with. I just downloaded irfanView from their website...it is free. Go to Google and type..irfanView and download it. It is an "excellent" picture editing software...blows Zoombrowser away in terms of window friendliness and capability in terms of adjusting your pictures.
Well...a few tips to help your quest on getting your picture quality resolved..which you will by wading through different options.
Good Luck,
George
A-40
