Actualy, I named it Barney, dunno why...

Here's the story I promissed in this post http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=87626 (http://showthread.php/?t=87626)

I went to the Badoca Park in Alentejo yesterday with a fellow POTNer - Law, my wife and his.

There was a lecture about the birds of prey (not the usual show seen everywhere) and the guy who was lecturing got some small Owls to put in the laps of the people in the crowd. While he was distributing two small Owls and explaining that these cannot be pets, discouraging illegal trading and local capture of these animals.

He left the two Owls and went to get bigger ones, and this litle fellow jumped from one lap to another, ending up here:

and he even tried to ignore the owl to get shots of the other birds. The owl didn't seem to enjoy the lack of attention.

:D:D:D:p:p:D:D:D:D

This is where the owl jumped in first.

Then the litle fellow felt at home and took his time, jumping all over my friend and his camera.

I hope you enjoy this one. I know I did. ;)

It would seem that little Owl disagreed with that mans comments.
Thanks for sharing this pictoral story with us Jaime. :D

That little owl was just trying to decide whether it should buy the battery grip for his camera. It's tricky when you have only talons.

That was a nice photo series.

Hello Bruce, ;)
Yes, that's the problem. When they are litle, they are sweet litle things and could't be more friendly. The problem is that some people catch them for their children but forget they grow and ar predators, he explained that even him has to be careful and see if the bigger birds are in the right mood to pick them up.
After a while people return them to nature but they are used to associate humans and food. It's dangerous for the bird (due to hunters) and for those unaware that are surprised in their yards.

Yeah. And I tend to agree with the bird even having more appropriate grasping tools. ;):D
