im just getting my stuff packed and getting ready to go to the track with a friend tomorrow to take pics of him riding and to get shots of me riding aswell. i did a quick search through here and found some answers but not all. id like to get shots of him where hes in focus but the background is blurred. i always assumed to use a slower shutter speed for this but after doing some reading if i crank it up a little itll help me with this effect. is this correct? if so what are you guys shooting at to get the best results? also are you doing single frame shots or are you setting the camera to take multiple pictures so that you can pan with the bike and get one or two that will come out? any help with this and any other help would be greatly appreciated. im using a canon rebel xs with the kit lens. thanks
