hello: I'm looking to take my family out for a photo shoot. i was thinking the beach or some cool old buildings. does any one have any suggestion.

I'm not from the LA area, but if you are going to use any Off camera flash you may need a permit to shoot on the beach. One of the members here did that when we was there on vacation.

Depends what kind of shoot you are wanting, but arboretums and/or parks are nice. Beach is an obvious choice but like one person here said, they may want to charge you.
