Im looking for a long zoom lens and I came upon this lens, Its seems pretty good. Does anybody own this lens? How do you like it? Would you recommend I buy it or do you suggest another lens?

Welcome .... a good buy and the Sigma 70-300mm APO is also very good, does close up shots and is cheaper.

If you search the forums with

Canon 100-300

you will get PAGES of threads on this topic as people compare it to other lenses in that class & price bracket. Good luck & post some pics when you get your new lens :) whatever you decide on, LOL :D

I had it for a short time, pretty sharp pics but it is cheaply made and is prone to extending on it's own if held vertical. Much better than the 70-300.
Ron Chappel did some great write up's on this lense.

i asume you mean the 100-300 usm F4.5-5.6?

i have one and love it!!
at F8 it is quite sharp even at 300mm very very fast auto focus and good colour and contrast, i got on ebay for £100 GBP, but as condyk says the sigma is good (if you get a good copy) and make sure you get the red ring not the gold ring (hope i got that right ) as the other cannot be chiped.

do a search for my motorsport posts (eos-rob-uk) and have a look at this lens in action or follow my links in my sig to the left. My only gripe is it does drop to full zoom if held down balaces well with the my 350D and is grat on my monopod

I returned the Canon 75-300USM for this lens yesterday. So far, I love it! Here are some sample shots....
