Hello - I searched the forum to see if this topic had already been posted, but no such luck. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the "shoot baby" ottoman bean bag? I've been searching for a bean bag locally but no such luck! The bean bag seems reasonably priced but I'm wondering if it is as "mold-able" as a regular bean bag.

From the looks of it, it doesn't look like it would be, but I guess only someone who has used it can answer that question. I used a large round dog bed that I got at Cost Co for $20, and it worked nicely, with a nice blanket over top of it. I set it on my futon in my sunroom, which has beautiful light, covered it with a nice blanket, and folded/tilted it the dog bed. I then and put the baby in the small crease. Now that I have much more storage room in my house, I use a large beanbag, but the dog bed was cheaper and easier to store afterwards.

Have you tried Target? I love mine from there- very easy to work with. It's not over-filled, and I just clamp off some fabric if I need it to be a little more firm.

I got mine at Target as well for about $20. I put a boppy on top of it, heating pad, then my blanket. You can't tell one bit and the boppy helps prop the baby up enough that you can pose him I have pics posted on my website under my "new life" tab for examples. The bean bag worked just fine for me. It has styrofoam balls in it I think so it's firmer then others. Hope this helps! :D

So glad I'm not the only one thinking of doing this. My only concern was any type of products used that might be ok for dogs but not babies? Are you still using this Sue?

I have one - I have mine quite full.. I guess you can fill it as much or as little as you like. Mine is leather and is great for any spills etc :) everything just wipes off. They also come with a waterproof pad you can put underneath if you need.

As the beans compress over time you can sink into them a little - which is perfect. You dont want to lose a baby in them and have them sink too far - which is what I found with ordinary bean bags.

See this photographers blog post for examples - http://summerlynphotography.com/blog/?p=1022
If you're shooting babies like that - you want them on top of the beanbag so you can still see all their features.

I use it for toddlers and kids as well as they can just sit on it - it works great.
