D-30 just went screwy

I was shooting on Large fine and my file size just went down to under 1.5 meg file size >> I just shot a job and the pics look fine but I need to know what happend to the camera. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

JPG compression (file size) is interrelated with several factors. Most important is color repeatability (the number of “like” color pixels JPG can group). I have thousands of Large/Fine images from 900K to 2.4 Meg. Just shot a product image today and the Large/Fine file size averaged 1.2 Meg. So all is OK.

hey thanks for the info. I Kinda had put 1 and 1 together about that. I had shot alot of high key white and then a couple of black frames were in there, and the file sizes were small. thanks again for the quick answer
