Color is my preference... maybe move the head a tad to the left or right not centered.
I like the drop down his chin... cute, good sharpness.

Color is better...the skin on the subject lends itself to sharpness and detail very well. The B&W seems a bit hot in the face.

Yes, it looks a little over-sharp to me too, especially in the forehead area.
