I dont shoot barrel Racers very often. What do you guys think...what could I do to improve this .... Not always easy if your restricted to a specific area as I was ...you kinda have to take what you get ....

Good pic! It is hard to get a shot at a rodeo with a clean background.
My suggestion is to shoot as many frames as you can get off while the horse is coming around the barrel-giving you lots of different perspectives. For me it would be a bit more pleasing to see the horse and rider coming into the frame--
Any more?

I've studied your picture for several minutes. I can't think of a thing that would have made it any better, assuming you can't change your position. It's actually very good. You did a fine job isolating the horse and rider between the sign in the background, and the barrel. Timing was just right, and the focus and exposure look right on. I like it the way it is, but you might want to experiment with shutter speed to get a little more motion blur. That's it. Good job!

It's a great pic. I wish it was bigger. A really good zoom lens would have made this pic much sharper. It could have been a keeper prize winning pic.

I played with saturation in photoshop to enhance the important details of the pic. I also cropped a little at the bottom for what I think is a better composition.

Well done mate. Great pic!

great pic i wish we did this in the uk. Any red in a picture pulls the eye so try to change the colour of the barrell in ps and see what effect that has . also clone out the white sighn. try a crop of the horse and rider and see howtruly sharp the image is ,i suspect the horses head is not to sharp this is still a good shot i wish i could take shots like this:lol:
