hi POTN,

my rebel XT does not turn on. tried everything. it might be a blown fuse.

need a reference for a local bay area repair shop for a reasonable price.

I have used the Canon Factory Service in Irvine, Ca.
They are very good,, fast service and fair.

No.

There is only two that I know of: Irvine, CA and Jamesburg, NJ.

so, i phoned canon so cal and they said $190 to repair. they will charge me extra if in case the repair is severe. wow, seems rather expensive for a rebel xt.

i can buy a mint used one for under $275. or better yet, a 20d or 30d. i may consider those options.

Well... use the opportunity to upgrade... that $190 will go a long away towards a t2i body :)
