Just starting to learn about HDR, and am planning to purchase Photomatrix...

When taking Landscape HDR Photos, when there is a slight breeze, how does HDR handle:

-moving clouds (which are in a different location in each frame)
-moving leaves on the trees

Wouldn't the moving leaves yield a blurry photo when merged together?

Thanks

Yes when it's windy out and you are dealing with trees it will blur them up. Photomatix usually does a good job at lining up the images but I have noticed when it's windy out it's difficult to do. I haven't seen many problems with slight breezes. My 2 cents.

For leaves and branches and such, in a breeze, it produces more of a ghost effect rather than a blur. You'll see 3 (or 5 or however many exposures you took) images of the same thing, slightly separated.

Waterfalls will look like more of a true blur.

Did you think you could get multiple images to be identical when by your explanation things are moving??

You could over lay the hdr on the best exposure of the items moving and remove that area of the hdr to get rid of the ghosts..

There's not a whole lot you can do with trees that are swaying back and forth a lot. Just shoot on a calm day instead. And fast moving clouds: If they are moving too fast it's too difficult, but if they are slowly moving then take your shots quickly.

Or you can just take one good well exp raw image and make it into 3 differant exp and thus make your hdr, problem solved....
