..(or should that be Canon?) for I have sinned it has been 25 years since my last confession.

Father I have been led into sin by my wife. She has a desire that cannot be quelled Father, she wants her own digital camera. Not a sin in itself Father, but she wants a small P&S camera and, Father, I have ordered her a .......Nikon..... What is my penance?

:)

:D:D I'll stop using my Nikkors on my Canon when they pry them from my cold... ;)

NOTE: My favorite bumper sticker reads, "Driver only carries $20 worth of ammunition"! :D;)

What is my penance? You will both have to endure the treachery of some Nikon forum in order to figure out how to use it. Such a forum won't be nearly as good as this one, and that should be penance enough.

Dewmuw,

omg just get a divorce before it arrives or she will be able to site mental cruelty and unreconcilable differences. What did she do that was so bad you had to buy her one of those....

lol, well I hope that she enjoys it, next thing she will want a slr, buy her a canon, that way when you buy yourself a new L you can give her the old non L as "you dont need it any more". Even better, when she borrows your kit and it vanishes into her bag, you have a perfect excuse for a new lens.

Does this sound like the voice of experience...

IMHO, I would go out, buy the most expensive 1D Mark II and donate to one of the members on this forum......

Then you'll feel real pain.
It is only through this (wallet) pain, that you can truly find redemption.

(At least the recipient of the 1D Mark II will forgive you )

OK I've said my Hail Mary's and had the 40 lashes (quite pleasant actually :D) but the 1D MkII is a little too extreme! :)

No - not with my upbringing!! The words come back easily. As do these:

Well, she has thee for the pain,
for thePatience; but pity of the rest of them!
Heart, go and bleed at a bitterer vein for the
Comfortless unconfessed of them—No not uncomforted: lovely-felicitous ProvidenceFinger of a tender of; O of a feathery delicacy, the breast of the
Maiden could obey so, be a bell to, ring of it, and
Startle the poor sheep back! is the shipwrack then a harvest, does
tempest carry the grain for thee?

Gerard Manley Hopkins must be one hell of a party guest!! :)

Now that we've established, you haven't lost your marbles (sheepish grin) try and not to make the same mistake again! ;)

See there's the problem. When I used to go to confession I would always promise to be a good boy and not sin again....but even that was a sin because I was lying!!!!

In the end I couldn't go through with it. I cancelled the order and have bought an Ixus 500 for her instead!

I hope that atones for my sins!

Congratulations on the new purchase, may we all enjoy the results :D

Regarding atonement, i'm sure all the sins have been forgotten and let it never be said that finding the path to rightiousness is an easy one! Welcome back to the light!

Amen ;)

I think it was a test from the god of Canon! :)

Either that or my wife was trying to tempt me over the the dark side......

Maybe now I'll go home and find I've won the lottery as my reward.
