What do you think a good age is to get the best new born pics ? My son is 2 weeks old and ive tried to manipulate his body into certain positions but hes just too floppy. What do you think a good age is ?

the first 14 days are awesome, what are you trying to make him do?

At that age, don't try to make him smile with his eyes wide open in a very cute position. The best thing you can do is sit and wait :)

Basically im trying to get a front shot of his head with a beanie on so he is facing the camera but his neck muscles wont support it.

prop him on a pillow with his arms folded under his chin or body to support him.

within the first 2 weeks is prime, they are the most moldable.

newborns sleep and eat alot, key is to get them a full belly, keep the room warm, and use a noise machine if needed to calm them. move slow and when you position them wait a few seconds or maybe minutes and let them settle. remember if you go fully naked to have lots of cloths ready.

shooting newborns takes a long time and its a game of patience.

after tyring a few newborns recently... i've decided that I'd rather stick to weddings. an hour (which always turns into more) with a newborn is more stressful than 12 hours at a wedding.
