Lense Testing

how to test new lenses for clarity, focus, etc....

I think the best test for a new lens is to use it to take a photo and see for yourself if your happy with the image. IMO if you look hard enough for a problem you will always find it. That said if you have a lens and the pictures aren't quite right, by all means test it. But if your not happy with the image in my thoughts you've already done all the testing you need.
