I will be shooting a product that is hollow chocolate shaped like a champagne bottle and wrapped in gold foil. I need to easily drop out the background to use the shot in a brochure layout. Any ideas (home-made and/or commercial) for a background and lighting this product indoors? It's currently very hot outside and I don't want the product to melt so I'd rather shoot inside. The gold foil is challenging with so many harsh reflections. Any good info or links to lighting something like this is very much appreciated. I have a Canon EOS 20D, Tamron 28-75, and a 420ex speedlight.
Regards, Jeff S.

I'm not a product photographer but how about instead of blasting it with a flash, trying taking a longer exposure with more subtle lighting.
