Its basically a reworded edition of the manual that came with the camera...
with better pictures.

Interesting, I have read that in a review at Amazon, but also some really positive ones.
Do you have the book?

I purchased one for my G3 after I had the camera a while. If you are familiar with the camera, have owned it a while and/or study the owner's manual, I think the money can be spent better for other things. Just my 2 cents.

I don't have the book, but I have browsed through a friend's copy. It does offer a little more than the standard user's manual, but I agree with Paladin that your money could be better spent elsewhere.
If you've read the Canon user's manual, then I think your best investment is to just spend more time taking pictures and learning the camera's pros and cons through trial and error.

I have found this useful in trying to learn my camera. Great pics of camera and manuel type pages. You may find it as useful as I did and it is online so you can look at it, print it and it is freehttp://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/g6.html
