canon Firewire

I have a canon 200i camcorder and am looking to download video footage onto my PC. I bought some firewire from jessops but it doesn't fit my camera as the 4 pin connection is the wrong shape. My camera has a more curved connection where as the firewire I bought is rectangular. I don't seem to be able to get the correct cable anywhere. Some advice is definately needed.

okay, so i'm assuming that the connector on the camcorder is a small (about 1/4 inch), and kinda shaped like a "[", and the connector on the cable you bought is a lot bigger, and shaped more like a long "D". you could try an electronics shop to see if they have a firewire adaptor, that goes from the larger 6pin connector to the smaller 4pin connector. that is unless you bought a USB cable, since you said it was "rectangular". i hope i helped some.
