So now what? I have had my camera for a month and love it. But how do I start building it up? What's first? What are the essentials?
I'm so confused!

Depends on what your shooting interests are...
If it was me, I would buy a nice external flash like the Canon 420EX.

Okay. Got that. And two tripods - a regular and a mini.
I am interested in portraits, landscapes, buildings, etc. I'll shoot tons of pictures at birthdays and weddings and do some set photography for my production company.
I want to learn more night photography and eventually, a while from now, do macro so macro filters and lighting isn't really a demand at the moment.

Maybe a nice wideangle add-on lens then for shooting landscapes and buildings as well as for getting a whole room into your indoor pics.

The 420ex and tripod are musts. Big CF card - 2 gig total if you want to learn RAW. Camera Bag. Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop Elements 3. Then hold off on other accessories and learn photography.

You will need a 52mm adapter tube if you don't already own one. I recommend the Lensmate.

Thanks. I think I'll be buying that lens along with the Tiffen MegaPlus Teleconverter 2x.
I'll need a 52mm adapter for the Raynox Wideangle and a 52-43 Step for the Tiffen.
Am I missing something? Should I get Filters? How can I protect my lens if I'm not using external lenses and how can I protect the Raynox and Tiffen lenses?

Most people that have add-on lenses, etc... use a UV filter on the lens adapter tube to protect the camera's lens when they are not using the add-on lenses. Most add-on lenses/filters also have threads to accept filters (or to stack filters), but you might need a larger size/thread filter to do this because of the increase in diameter from one end of the add-on lens to the other.
