Can the Canon ST-E2 fire the Sigma 500 Super?

I was looking at Adorama that has the ST-E2 and two 550Ex's as a set. I would like to have a portable battery flash kit for formal settings where three flashes all fire through white umbrella's.

If the ST-E2 can trigger my Sigma 500 DG super, I'd be set... Anyone have experience?

There are reports that the Sigma doesn't play quite as well as it might with Canon's Speedlites in master/slave mode - on either end of the equation. I'd be a bit cautious about mixing and matching.

I found I can get the Sigma to fire the 550ex, however I can't get the 550 to trigger the Sigma in Wireless...

I think I'll move to all Canon...
