I'm looking at the Zenitar 16mm fisheye. Will that basically only give me 1mm more of FOV than my 17-40L ? Does the fisheye add any additional FOV?

I do not have a fish-eye lens, but I think I've heard that as soon as you de-fish the image, you will even lose some of the width... so the corrected FOV might be pretty similar to your 17-40.
Best regards,
Andy

However there is a 8mm fisheye that is a bit more expensive than the Zenitar, and might do the trick for you. From your fav eBay vendor, search fisheye and remove the expensive branded ones :D

With 16mm you get less once when photo is croped then with 16mm linear lens. I was playing just for minute once with 8mm fish compared to 16-35/2.8 at 16mm. Here's result (http://www.mgdfx.com/gluposti/16vs8.jpg)
First photo is 16-35/2.8, second is croped 8mm and third is original 8mm fish on 1d. I know it's not 16mm fish but you can get idea how much you lose with croping. Don't bother too much with quality of results. I just croped photo since I didn't feel like bugging with it for long, so it's nothing like procedure described on link which Ron posted.

I'm looking at the Peleng 8mm too. I have heard that the mirror catches on the lens in some cameras. Anybody know if this is a problem on the 20D. I'd really hate to ruin my camera with a novelty lens.

This guy has a bunch of images taken with the Peleng+20D. These are some examples...

I guess it is probably safe to assume that it works with the 20D then. I think I'm going to have to pick one of these up.
