A friend of mine is very into recycling  - he is at present clearing out a small factory unit that used to be used by a small d&p photographic processors and photo-studio. He has given me a few (about 20) disposable cameras with flash to recycle into something useful. I have extracted the batteries to use but I was thinking I could use the flashes as lighting for a table top studio.

Has anyone attempted anything similar or seen a website with advice on the subject, or can offer any advice?

I don't call myself an electronics expert although I can solder and use a multi-meter.
I know that the flash component has high voltages and to be careful.
I thought it would help me save some money as the flashes seem to be quite powerful for their size.

nn :)

Somewhere on the web someone made a ringlight using LEDs. That might be something to try, too.
