So had my first shoot this morning with a family of three. It was interesting to try to get everything going at first, but everyone was a lot more relaxed after about 20 minutes (including me). Had a blast! Hope you like the photos & I'm always open for feedback!

Thanks for looking...

Adam

I think you did well, I really like how you took candid shots rather than the typical pose and look at the camera. nice use of natural light too.

Nice!

What time was this shoot?

Did you use any flash/reflector to avoid shadows? I usually try to find a shaded area to avoid shadows.. but I have some shoots coming up scheduled at 10ish and 1ish... :( I'm scared of shadows!! lol

Thanks for the comments!

Photos,
I didn't use anything at all, and it actually made it rough. We met at 8am for the shoot, and the sun was being pretty stubborn already. I'm still weak in my lighting, so I need to practice that area a lot more to battle to shadows. We just kept trying to rotate in ways to work with the sun. I had some shots I lost though due to shadows, so I would recommend either reflectors, or off-camera flash would be ideal. That's where I want to improve on to help this issue...

LOVE the 2nd one ! Great action shot !

My CC would be - and this is my personal liking - shoot in some shade if you can - have the light on the people, but move them out of the harsh sun light

:)

Thanks for the advice mercermoments. I'll look for more shade next time around. It was crazy how strong the sun was even that early in the morning!

The jumping one cracked me up too. The dad and daughter were both supposed to jump together actually. Well...it didn't work that way, but it turned out better I think.
