With only 10,000 units ready for shipping on the official launch of the new 10D it seems we will be waiting for how long? No one really knows. But alot of retail stores are very suprised at the low numbers of 25 cameras or less or none at all. It seem that canon would have learned there lesson this time and be ready for the demand. This will be the week to see if canon is really ready to fill the demand or is just back to the D60's order fulfillment problems of the past. They have shipped out some cameras. Now lets see if more are on the way this should be the week. Or will weeks turn into months and months of wait. Good luck!

It's a human characteristic always to have the newest. Stupid pre-orders.
Some month ago this was a D60 ... wow the best! ... now it is old (100 bugs, go to ebay...) and it MUST be a 10D.
In half a year ... the same. 10D is old and "useless", wow, I want the newest 15D!
With my 10D I took 526 pictures ... where to get a 15D ?
Some people are not interested in taking pictures. They only "want to have the newest things" ....

Yes and no. There were many problems with the D60 and many like my self have suffered with the camera. Simple I need a break form the D60. My hopes are that the 10D will fix all the D60's problems and I can work less hard and much smarter. The A/F system on the D60 in low light can drive you to drink. Many on the Forum do not use there cameras for a living as I do. When the new technology is available and makes my life easer I want it and I want is fast. This is human nature. And it will always be that way. Good day all.

well I had a different approach to the 10D delivery time. I have a G2 and love it for most kinds of photos but sports where I need a long zoom is better suited for a SLR. I want a 10D but the wait could be long so my approach was to invest in a used Rebel 2000 SLR film camera with 50mm lens (for a modest price) and added a 70-300 zoom lens. I will patiently wait until the time is right, when the users on this forum have had a chance to play with it and the price is right for the 10D and won't have wasted my investment in lens. Film still has some advantages over digital, until the 11mpixel camera is affordable option.
