We are going to Vegas for a few days and want to take a day trip to the Grand Canyon. We'll rent a car and spend the day driving to the Canyon and hoping to site see on the way. I know it's 4-5 hours one way. We might rent a car a second time. It just depends on how things go. I think we'll shoot for the South Rim. Any recommendations for stops along the way? We've been to Hoover Damn. We thought about doing the bus tour thing but have decided to drive it ourselves. Also what about Red Rock Canyon, Desert View highway?
thanks

Maybe a change of plans. Instead of driving to the South Rim. How about the West Rim and the Hualapai Indian Reservation. Much closer to Vegas, maybe half the distance. Any body been there? Is it worth the time saved. I'm sure the South Rim would be better viewing but would the West Rim give us a taste of the canyon.
