I just purchased the Teleconverter lens, and I don't see too much of a difference in the zoom with it on verses without. Am I missing something? Is this really worth the price of the lens in your opinion?

I use the TC-DC58N with a G3. With the G3, the camera is supposed to be set at full optical zoom when using the teleconvertor. The G6 may have the same requirement.
I found that the wide angle converter was more useful. I can post some pics if you are interested.

I've been torn between getting the tele or the wide angle converter (but leaning towards the wide). I'd really like to see some pics if you don't mind posting some.
Thanks in advance,
Brandon

The first shot is with the TC-DC58N. The 35mm equivalent focal length is 245mm (140*1.75). The second picture is the 100% crop of the buildings in the background which are about 18 miles (29km) away.

These next shots were taken with the WC-DC58N. The equivalent 35mm focal length would be 24.5mm (35*0.7).

I bought mine a few years ago and paid about $100. I think I've gotten my money's worth from all the shots I took with it.

I think I have decided to keep my tele lens from the results of pictures I took yesterday. I was looking at your first group of pictures, and where you using a tripod? Because when shooting at night, you must use one, because the camera uses a slow shutter speed, like 1" or 4", and that can cause the blurring of the buildings in the backround.

You're welcome. The photos are resized to meet the <100KB requirement, but if you look at each wide angle shot, the size of the people show how wide the capture is. I think the wide teleconverter can give you some interesting shots.

Good for you! The teleconverters are a good value. If you want to do the same with a DSLR, you have to spend a lot more money.
The night shot was taken on a tripod with a long exposure (4 sec, f8). I used the 2 sec timer to minimize shake. That night, there was a bit of wind which may have moved the camera slighty. I was still happy with the shot because I don't normally look at it with 100% zoom. The other reason it is blurry is because the buidlings are so far away. The G3 did a good job because I think I'm at the limits of its resolution... Your G6 will have captured more detail.
Since taking that shot, I've bought a 20D and went back to the same spot during the day. Here's 100% crop of the shot at 8 mp. I plan on trying the shot again at night with the 20D, but it's been so hazy here. So anyways, I'm still happy with what the teleconverter can do.
