LR2 preset limit?

Is there is a limit to the amount of presets you can add to Lightroom 2?

I notice though that with a couple dozen that LR seems to load slower then when it has no additional presets.

There is no real limit and they shouldn't slow LR at all because they are just a set of XML instructions that do nothing until clicked.
