Hi,
I bought a G6 about a week ago. I have had a problem with the lens cap falling off all the time. Does anyone have any idea how to fix that? I am not sure if I should write to Canon or what? Also when ever I shoot close (less that 3 feet) the picture gets washed out. Any idea about that?

Thanks

the lens cap thing has been a problem since the Powershot G1. there's nothing you can really do about it, except to buy a 52 or 58mm converter from either canon or www.lensmateonline.com and fit it with a UV filter and standard lenscap. in the meantime, at least tie the string of your current lenscap on the camera, so that you don't lose it when it falls off. Now with your washed out photos, we need to see what you mean . . . can you post an example?

I don't have a problem with my lens cap except i know put it in pocket when its not in use, it bugs me when its just hangin there.

Check your exposure settings and if the flash i fireing it could too high, i've had mine since last November and have nearly got to know this cam inside out of what its capable of and believe me when you get the hang of it it won't disapoint. Check ou the macro section, i've been out playing again.....:D

Good luck and enjoy.

I have a G2 and my lens cap fits just fine. I have it hooked to my neck strap so it just hangs out of the way when not in use.
