First attempt at getting critique from you guys - don't worry about being gentle, my skin is as tough as a rhinos.
Not worked out how to attach a file small enough so here's a link

Hi JEG.
I like the idea behind the first one. I think there is too much of the thrift (sea pinks) in the foreground - a higher angle may have helped. The flowers are also a bit out of focus and that really distracts.
Sorry but the second one doesn't work for me. Either get in close and highlight a couple of the flowers and come out further and show more of a landscape shot.
Thanks for posting - looking forward to seeing more of the beach.

Hello JEG,
I love the composition and the point of view in your photos. Simply well done. The colors however in my opinion needed some adjustments. I attach here a workshop I did on your photo, and here are the changes I made. I hope you don't mind:
photoshop 7, selected the sky. Applied a linear color burn to it. then reversed selection, used the contrast/brightness tool to lower the brightness by about 17 percent and increased the contrast by about 12. Then worked on the saturation on the magentas, using the saturation tool and then finally also changed the hues of the blues towards darker blues.
anyways, not much change, but I think the colors come out better. I hope you like it.
cheers,
quantabeh

Hi Jeg
I prefer the original image. That's what the Chesil Beach looks like from that viewpoint. Do you have one from the top of Portland?

Great pics
Im from there, I live in Portland wuhu and get to see that scene everyday. Funny how you come to take things for granted when you get to see it so often, thanks for reminding me what a great place it is.
*Makes mental note to visit Chesil with camera over weekend :)

Cheers for the feedback - I agree with Scrumpy the enhanced one is a bit "forced" in my view. Good to see I've inspired a couple of locals to look at their locale again too.
