Got this lens some weeks ago. Being testing it. I just love this! This is the first picture that I've had with this lense that has some flare in it.
Did try it, though. :rolleyes:

Yes, you're right I don't see a lot of this lens being used. It's not very popular for some reason. How's the distortion? I am assuming you are using it on FF body.

I never shoot into the sun, but the flare is not that bad. Did you use a filter? It's been really sunny over here in Northern Cali lately, which is not always the best time to take pics (low contrast). Hopefully they'll be something moody to shoot in AK when I go up there at the end of the month.

I'm still learning to use my new MF gear myself. I'm currently reading a few books on the subject. Hopefully they will help me get up to speed.

This lens is awesome, altough lately I've been having my new Makro-Planar T* 2/100 ZE on my camera. Haven't been using Canon lenses since I got my Planar 1,4/50 ZE. I think I'm a Zeiss man nowdays... :rolleyes:

Decided not to have any filters with my Zeiss optics... Maybe some Heliopan filters in the future... never say no. FF, ou yeah! :)

Today I took a walk with 18mm ZE. Some spruces in the local park had some little birdhouses and feeding eh.. things hanging around. Taken as close as you can get... wide open. Lightning as it was. Colors too.

why dont more people have this lens. im sure its amazing. i wish i could afford one because i totally want a wider lens and i really like zeiss even though im poor.

just bought this lens!!! haven't really used it yet.. went to a Canucks game last night decided to give it a test, this one is at F5.6, 2 shot stitched... so far I'm liking it more than my ex 17-40L.

Ordered the Lee Filter system.. probably won't see it till next year. I do hope to try the Big Lee Stopper and some GND filters!
