Looks nice and sharp.
Here's what I posted elsewhere about mine.
I recently acquired a Tamron 28-75 XR Di LD f2.8 (http://www.tamron.com/lenses/prod/2875mm_lg.asp) and have been using it for a couple of weeks now and I must say I'm very impressed. It doesn't have L build quality but its fairly lightweight, compact and has a pretty useful focal range. As you may know this lens is currently one of the favorites so supplies can be limited esp at the common online vendors. So far I've found the f/2.8 to be very useful for in door shooting of portraits and candids which with a new baby in the house is providing plenty of oppertunity. My copy seems to be very sharp and I've managed to take some pretty amazing photo's of my new daughter with it. Anyway if anyone's looking for a quality walk around lens that works well indoors the Tamron's a good choice and it happens to be reasonably affordable as well (esp if you compare it to the L's)
I've posted a full resolution image of haley (http://www.pbase.com/apratt/image/46807200/original) on my pbase account if you'd like to see how sharp my copy is. Its had a little USM applied but even the original from the 10D is pretty sharp.

Thanks for all comment. I used the internal flash and don't have any external flash yet.

Yep its an excellent lens. Do some focus testing to make sure it operates correctly, as in checking for front or back focusing issues.

Looks pretty good to me. These Tamrons love f/4 ~ f/8 but produce brilliant images even wide open. I doubt I'll ever relinquish the ownership of mine.

I conducted an unoffical test today at my back yard with the following 3 lenses: 18-55/3.5-5.6 kit lens, 50/1.8 and the Tamron 28-75/2.8 that I bought a month ago. I take photos at 50mm with various f-stops (can only compare from f-5.6 and on). There was no surprise that the 50/1.8 prime always came out on top regardless of f-stop used (both center and edges). However, some of the f-stops on the kit lens actually looked better than the Tamron (center), and the kit lens always much sharper at the edges compared to the Tamron. It is a big surprise!! I do not know if I got a bad copy of the Tamron or if it has the well-known front focus problem. At least I know I got a good copy of the kit lens!! I will try to do this test again.
