Been playing with dodge and burn tools in B&W. I know this photo is nothing special but the texture of the weathered marble looks kind of nice.
What do you think.

Ok, so the session with Martin (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=87784) made me turn photos to monochrome left & right. What do you think of my humble attempts

Nice stuff. The first reminds a bit of Howard Bond.

I know your interested in the textures, and i like them too, but I'd like to see more black in the upper right. Maybe if the stairs were right through the middle diagonal?
Very nice.

I love the first one, great job there, the second is a little difficult to make out, could be my monitor not showing enough dark though, good job..............Joe

Did you use the USM contrast control we talked about in the Q&A forum ??? because you semed to have made a flat image look textured and real

Thank you guys, appreciate your comments.
jopfin, I wish the wall was smooth in the 2nd pic, it would've made it a little more interesting.
Hi Martin, I'm really a beginner when it comes to PS/PSE. Only used a little USM (that's all I know about sharpening).
Thank you everybody for your kind comments.

I think I'm going to try that, though it will need a lot of work as the background is rather busy. Thanks for the suggestion.
