I have all of my microthumb and thumbs working, but when you click on the exhibiton and it then presents you with the thumbs. You should be able to click on any one of the pictures and then it goes full screen. Is there any where in the configuration that I have to change some parm?

Thanks to all of you.

Ray

If it's not working I'd double check all of your path settings again. Most problems like this seem to down to a mistake in the path setting

Mike,

Thanks for the reply. I have checked the settings and they are correct for the thumb and micro thumb directories. What seems to be a happening is that when you click on the thumb picture it wants to find the new picture in a directory called wwww.yourdomain.com/gallery.

So I put the higher quality jpegs in that directory path and it's working now, but there has to be some place to change the setting so that it picks it up from, for example in the installation default path (www.your domain.com/gallery/d30/) I would like to have the higher quality jpegs stored in one of those paths.

I can't seem to figure out how to correlate the paths to an exhibition. I add a path but there is no place to associate it with a exhibtion.

And currently the path that it is picking up from www.yourdomain.com/gallery is no where to be found in any the paths that are currently set through the admin screen, so I'm a little puzzled.

Thanks

Ray

Above the thumb and microthumb path sections, have you checked the settings for the size paths?

For large size photos I have

http://www.mydomain.com/gallery/photos/large/
/public_html/gallery/photos/large

as part of my config for large photos. Do you have something similar?

Mike,

Again thanks for replying back. I have the following paths set up:

http://www.yourdomain.com/public_html/gallery/D30_photos/big
http://www.yourdomain.com/public_html/gallery/D30_photos/big_hq
http://www.yourdomain.com/public_html/gallery/D30_photos/medium
http://www.yourdomain.com/public_html/gallery/D30_photos/medium_hq
http://www.yourdomain.com/public_html/gallery/D30_photos/small

http://www.yourdomain.com/public_html/gallery/photos/big
http://www.yourdomain.com/public_html/gallery/photos/normal
http://www.yourdomain.com/public_html/gallery/photos/small

I can see how you associate the thumbs and microthumbs to each of the exhibitions, but I'm not sure how you associate the exhibition to the above size paths? I think that is where my problem lies.

Thanks,

Ray

Hi Ray

In the upload photo process you first upload the photo (step 1), then you select the photos from the upload folder (step 2) and then you select the sizes you want them to be and where they're going (step 3)

It sounds like you're having problems with step 3

I generally process my photo for uploading the gallery and then save it as 800 wide. In step 3 I control click on the following lines

/public_html/gallery/photos/small Small (GD 400) Small
/public_html/gallery/photos/normal Medium (GD 600) Medium
/public_html/gallery/photos/large NONE

This means that my 800 wide photo is resized to 400 and put in small, resized to 600 and put in medium and the original uploaded photo which is laready 800 is put in large

I think this is where your problem lies, either in step 3, or in setting up the sizes and paths in the first place.

Regards

Mike

PS - Are you using EXHIBIT ENGINE 1.5 RC 4 or the earlier 1.2 version?

The current release is hard to find on the site so some people struggle with 1.2 not realising there's a later version

PPS Have sent you a PM. I'm only mentioning it here because I've just spotted someone sent me one months ago and I hadn't noticed until now

Mike, I'm using version 1.2, can you send me the link for the later release and I will try that.

Thanks,
Ray

You get it from here - http://photography-on-the.net/ee/beta/

It's not very easy to find and it seems to catch a few people out.

The install instructions are at http://photography-on-the.net/ee/beta/setup_upload_system.php

I initially struggled with 1.2 and gave up and then accidentaly found 1.5 RC4 some months later
