That's a cool image. Would you let me know what "IR" means, please?
Thanks.

I like the exposure of half dome. Stunning work, I must make a note to myself to obtain a D60 modified for IR, this so blows away what I can do with my G3. I have loved IR since I was a teenager (too long ago) shooting IR color slide film with a rangefinder camera. No one could believe the shots were real. Post some more great work Duder... I'm waiting. Beautiful shot, I haven't even touched or know anything about IR yet but that is awesome.

IR means infrared. basically an IR filter blocks out the visible light spectrum and records the invisible infrared spectrum. ;)
Tony, I'd love a modified D60 also as I'm only using a modified Sony S85. one of the advantages of this camera though, is the ability to see a live preview of the shots, and the auto focus works nicely. neither of these are available on a DSLR unfortunately. I've been trying out the 20D using long exposures recently as well. it has produced some interesting results.
thanks to everyone for the comments.

Nice job, it seems as if it is not really there, but a ghost mountian.

Great shot and detail. It feels "off" horizontally, is it level?
