hey guys, I know this is an old story when it comes to the BGE2 grip for the 20D but, here it goes. I waited until I thought the problems where fixed and even got BH to admit that they have the newest grips without fault. Here is my situation with the grip. I just got it today and put it on with a full charged battery. About 30 min into shooting it went to one bar on the battery indicator. I was puzzled so I took it out and put it back in and it went up again! Then about 5 min later it went back down. I put it back in the camera without the grip attached and the battey stayed full capacity on the readout. Also, When I was using the dial on the grip I noticed the readout in the viewfinder flickering and losing power at times. So here is my question? Did I get stuck with a bad grip? 2nd question. Since I just got it, should I send it back to BH for a new one or go ahead and send it to canon? I dont know what is the best move at this point?? Please help I have a trip to go out in a week and need to get this resolved..

Blessings

I haven't read of any problems with the new reworked grips so I think you would be OK to send it back to B&H for a replacement. The turn around time would more than likely be quicker sending it back to B&H.

hell, send it to canon to be fixed. Probably get a similar one from B&H.

Send it back to B&H, making it thier problem is easier than making it Canon's problem. I love the way you can return almost anything in the US :p
