We're all well aware that Internet Explorer for Windows doesn't respect embedded colour profiles. I've tried beta 1 of IE7 for Windows XP and it doesn't either. That doesn't mean the final version won't - but I can't find anything to say it will. I've just posted a "feature request" for "color management" on the IE7 Wiki at http://channel9.msdn.com/wiki/default.aspx/Channel9.InternetExplorerFeatureRequests. I don't think I have a lot of influence ;), so if any of you have Microsoft contacts then I hope you can also push for colour profile support. If you come across any newsgroups that are discussing IE7 then throw in some comments. Imagine - a world where we could retain an Adobe RGB profile when "saving for the web"! :)
Microsoft Office 2003 does use embedded colour profiles when displaying an image. So part of Microsoft knows how to do it, it's just a matter of getting the IE7 people to do it too ...
